Abstract: On June 13, 2025, the retirement ceremony of renowned scholar and literary critic Professor Wang Xiaoming was held at Shanghai University. At the event, professor Wang Xiaoming gave a speech titled “How to Be ‘Childish’ and How to Be ‘University’”, analyzing the current social situation and the problems and challenges faced by universities, demonstrating a sincere humanistic sentiment and sharp critical consciousness as a cultural research scholar. “Exploration and Free Views” has released the edited version of this speech for readers.
