Abstract: In the era of specialization and fragmentation, it seems that it is no longer possible to put forward a “holistic” academic viewpoint. However, it is still an unavoidable mission for humanity scholars to link academic and practical issues with individual life. Therefore, after Liu Yuedi’s interview with Mr. Li Zehou was published in 2014, Exploration and Free Views once again recommended the dialogue between them. This paper records the dialogue between the two scholars in 2019, including “history” “ethics” and “metaphysics”. Mr. Li Zehou advocated to interpret the historical development with the living individual emotion, to replace the transcendental moral theory with the human cognitive accumulation, and to resist the nihilism of this era with the aesthetic experience. Thus, we can show the readers how “holistic” humanism is possible.
