Mutual Service, Market Drive and Life Value——Innovation and Enlightenment of UK Cooperatives in the Post-epidemic Era

  • Online:2021-04-24 Published:2021-04-24

Abstract:

The United Kingdom (UK) is the first country in the world to develop its cooperative economy, which has experienced the traditional cooperatives, modern cooperatives, new cooperatives in nearly two centuries. Mutual aid service, market drive and life value have become the key words corresponding to the development stage and helped us to understand the development history of UK cooperatives. During the COVID-19 epidemic period, UK cooperatives responded quickly and redistributed resources, shared risks with companies to reduce the risk of unemployment and better serve their communities. Their more resilient symbiotic advantages were fully demonstrated.
